Mitchell Wright (Tampa, Fla./Plant) is an outside linebacker/defensive end prospect. Wright is 6-foot-3 and 210-pounds. He's a very active presence for the Plant defense.
Wright lines up at outside linebacker and defensive end. This is a kid that plays with a very high motor and gives a great effort on every down. He doesn't give up on a play and will chase the ball down. Wright makes plays in the backfield, on the sideline and down the field.
As a defensive end, he has a good get off and shows the ability to rush the passer, whether it's with a quick inside move or using speed to get around the tackle. Last season in the state championship win over Miramar he had five sacks.
As a linebacker, Wright can come off the edge after the quarterback and also plays very well in space. He has a good burst to the ball and closes quickly. Wright is also physical and very aggressive. When he has the chance Wright will punish the ball carrier.
Overall, this is a very aggressive defensive player that gives a great effort on the gridiron.
Here are some junior highlights of Wright from last season.
