Perry Talks CMU

2013 linebacker Jeff Perry made the decision to attend Central Michigan recently and the Morris High (Ill.) standout talks about his choice inside.

Jeffrey Perry of Morris High (Ill.) made his college decision official and picked Central Michigan.

"I committed about three weeks ago," Perry said. "So pretty recently."

Central Michigan was one of two schools that were commanding most of Perry's attention.

"I had offers from Central Michigan and Bowling Green," Perry said. "They were at the top of my list through the whole process."

He added, "I knew I liked Central Michigan the whole time."

And because Perry felt so positive towards CMU, there was no reason to postpone his decision.

"I felt like I knew I liked Central Michigan so why wait," Perry said.

Perry visited CMU earlier in the summer -- and was pretty impressed.

"I really liked my visit," Perry said. "It was one of those days that there wasn't a lot of players visiting so I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches."

He continued, "And then Kevin Henry, who went to Morris showed me around campus and the dorms and I really liked it."

Another thing that Perry likes about Central Michigan is the position that he was recruited for.

"They have told me that they have an outside linebacker and safety hybrid position that they are thinking about me at," Perry said.

Both of which he has played at Morris High.

"I played linebacker until last year," Perry said. "Then last year I played safety and liked it."

He added, "The biggest transition is just learning to stay really close to the line at linebacker."
