Stacy Thomas made the trip from Miami to Atlanta this past weekend to visit Georgia Tech. "I loved the city of Atlanta and the campus at Georgia Tech. Once I got there I could tell I would enjoy my time."
Thomas met with the coaches and and felt comfortable with them. "Coach (Buzz) Preston was awesome. He really made me feel right at home and welcomed there."
Thomas participated in the camp as an outside linebacker. "It was strange being an outside linebacker after being used to playing with my hands down all the time." Thomas enjoyed playing at the new position."I could see myself playing as an outside linebacker."
The campus visit and the tour of the facilities left a big impression on Thomas. "The facilities are top notch. I enjoyed working out in the indoor facility. It was really nice."
Prior to participating in the Georgia Tech camp, Thomas stopped in Athens to visit Georgia. "The coaches are really really nice and they worked their players hard. I enjoyed my time there."
While he enjoyed his time in Athens, Georgia didn't make the final three for Thomas. "The coaches at Tech were great and I love the city of Atlanta and the campus." The visit to Tech has vaulted them into his top three along with Florida and Florida State.
Thomas likes the fact that Florida is close to home and his parents can see easily see him play. "Growing up, Florida was a school I always liked and followed."
The coaches at Florida State made an impression on Stacy and he feels that they are a program on the rise again. "Coach (Jimbo) Fisher says I would make a great addition to them team and help them get back to national prominence."
The trip to Georgia Tech was special for Thomas. "The coaches gave me great vibes and I can't express how much I love the city of Atlanta and how Tech's campus is set up inside the city." Thomas' dad is originally from Ashburn, Georgia so it isn't totally unfamiliar territory for his family. "They can still make trips to see me play if I went there."
Stacy will be sitting down with his parents to talk about the pluses and minuses for each school. "Hopefully we will have this done before I go back to school later this summer. If not by then, it will be shortly there after."
