Mid-Atlantic Quick Hitters

Football season is near and here are some news and notes on some of the top prospects in the Mid-Atlantic.

Josh McNeil traveled to Alabama on Wednesday. The four-star Hillside High (Durham, N.C.) tight end will be in Tuscaloosa until Friday. McNeil will likely make his decision in early August. Scout's No. 7 tight end is down to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Washington State.

Taquan Mizzell visited North Carolina on Tuesday and the trip went extremely well. In fact, North Carolina has moved into his top three with Virginia and West Virginia. The Bayside High (Virginia Beach, Va.) four-star running back plans to make a verbal commitment before his season starts.

Mike Williams is down to two schools. Clemson and South Carolina are the final two for Lake Marion High (Holly Hill, S.C.) wide receiver. The four-star playmaker will make his decision at the end of the month.

Maquez Grayson visited Wake Forest on Tuesday. It was his second trip to the school's campus this summer. In my opinion, his decision will come down to Wake Forest and Tennessee. He has also been to Knoxville on multiple occasions.

Demetri McGill is down to five schools. Cincinnati, East Carolina, James Madison, Maryland, and Old Dominion all made the cut for the Ocean Lakes High (Virginia Beach, Va.) defensive tackle.

Connor Wingo-Reeves has been busy this summer. The Monacan High (Richmond, Va.) outside linebacker is closing in on double-digit camp appearances. He will be at Virginia this Saturday and then head to Temple on July 28. He holds offers from William & Mary and Navy.

Cody Hendrickson committed to James Madison on Tuesday. The York High (Yorktown, Va.) defensive end is the first commitment for the Dukes in the class of 2013.

Bamberg-Ehrhardt High (Bamberg, S.C.) teammates Nicholas Halmon and Demetrius Odom will visit UNC-Charlotte this weekend. Halmon, a defensive back, has eight offers. Odom, a running back, has 11.

Jeb Blazevich has picked up two offers in the past 48 hours. He was offered by Tennessee on Tuesday and Virginia Tech Wednesday. Blazevich has been on the road a lot lately. In the past week, he has camped at Georgia (last Friday), LSU (Monday), and Tennessee (Tuesday). The 2014 Charlotte (N.C.) Christian tight end will head to Alabama this Friday and Virginia next week. He has 16 scholarship offers.

Will Grier visited another campus on Wednesday and walked away with another offer. Tennessee offered the 2014 Davidson (N.C.) Day School quarterback while he was in Knoxville. It is offer No. 5 for Grier. Along with the Volunteers, East Carolina, Florida, North Carolina, and Wake Forest have all offered.

Bo Baldwin is still waiting on his first scholarship offer. However, I expect that to change in the near future. The 2014 quarterback out of South Aiken High (Aiken, S.C.) was at South Carolina on Monday, Alabama yesterday, and will be at Tennessee on Friday.
