Johnson On the Brink

The Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw athlete, Mossi Johnson, thinks he's on the brink of more offers coming in...

Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw athlete Mossi Johnson (6-0, 175), is still sitting on one offer, but a good performance at a Pac-12 camp this weekend could make that change.

"UNLV offered me and I'm going to Arizona State for their camp on Sunday and if I do well, the coaches said they might offer me," said Johnson.

And Johnson thinks a strong start to his senior year could give him even more options to choose from.

"UCLA said they may offer too, and San Diego State, I've talked to and they said the same thing," said Johnson.

Johnson did a little of everything last year for the Cougars, and said his recruitment is primarily as an athlete, but he's got a specific position in mind.

"I'm being recruited as an athlete, but I want to play receiver in college," said Johnson. "I was playing corner at our 7on7 tournaments and I also did some safety last year, and I played some quarterback too, but this year I'm playing strictly receiver and safety."

Johnson said that Oregon and Arizona are also expressing some interest in him, but he's anxious for his senior year to start so he can make an impression.

"We play Corona Santiago and then Norco our first two games, so I'm hoping I do really well," said Johnson.

Johnson camped at the B2G Elite Camp and the UCLA Elite Camp this summer, as well as a number of 7v7 tournaments with Crenshaw.

Last fall, Johnson ran for 493 yards on 78 carries and six touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he had 40 tackles and a pass breakup.
