McCrary already had an impressive list of scholarship offers and the Seminoles just impressed him enough over the last two months to put him on their commitment list.
"I really did not know much about FSU until I attended their camp in June. I was there for a day then and I came back this week for three day, and I just felt like I wanted to stay there.
"Rodney Smith (FSU wide receiver) came from my area and we talked a lot and he told me a lot about the program. It just sounded like what I thought it was after spending time there, so I went ahead and committed to them."
The 2014 wide receiver out of Coral Reef, Fla. gave the news to James Coley. He was excited.
"He was very happy when I called him. I told him I might be calling to commit before I left their campus, so when I called, I gave him the news.
"He let me know that he was going to keep recruiting me hard and that he really wanted me to be a part of FSU."
The talented wideout looks forward to being part of the environment Jimbo Fisher has going on in Tallahassee right now.
"I was around the coaches and the players a lot this week and the people there are great," McCrary said. "The atmosphere is great, I had a great time around everyone, and I am very happy with my decision."
He is not ready to close the book on recruiting completely yet though with around 18 months to go until he signs.
"I still have a lot of interest in Florida and Clemson too. If something goes wrong in the next two years, then I will look back at them, but for now, I am with Florida State."
