Josh McNeil Announces for Tide

Josh McNeil was once down to Alabama and Georgia before opening things up to five schools earlier this month but on the heels of a visit to Tuscaloosa the 4-star tight end pulled the trigger.

Recruiting fans caught glimpse of a surprise on Friday night as Josh McNeil used Twitter to draw in an audience.

The four-star tight end from Durham (N.C.) Hillside High used the social media site to let followers know something would be made public at midnight (eastern).

"Fall 2013 I will be playing for Alabama #rolltide," he announced.

McNeil becomes the second tight end in Alabama's 2013 class along with the nation's top TE in O.J. Howard.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound receiving threat is coming off of his first full season of football at Hillside - but his raw talent and basketball-based ability allowed for him to sky up recruiting boards and to land offers from some of the best programs in the country including that of his finalists Miami (Fla.), Georgia, Florida and Washington State.

McNeil committed to the reigning National Champions after visiting the Tuscaloosa campus for several days.
