"This all means a lot to me," said Austin of his Dandy Dozen selection. "It means a lot to my family too.
"I am glad to be here for the south. I am the only one from the coast that made the Dandy Dozen, so it's special."
During the day's events, Austin had the chance to get to know some of his fellow Mississippi State commitments.
"It was real interesting," said Austin. "I got to learn a lot about them and I know I am going to be friends with them.
"I kind of got to know all of them a little bit.
"I got talk some today with (Antonio) Conner and (Gabriel) Myles and we were all cool with each other."
The Dandy Dozen photo shoot comes just days after Mississippi State's Big Dawg camp. An event that Austin was unable to attend.
Despite his absence, Austin reports he is in regular contact with the Bulldog coaching staff.
"They are still talking to me about coming up there and being a big receiver for them," said Austin. "They tell me that they want to get me up there and throw me the ball.
"Ever since I committed, most of the other schools have backed off. I am 100% solid with Mississippi State and I am just getting ready for the season now.
"I am working hard to have no dropped passes and a I want 1,000 yards.
"I want to be a lot crisper in my routes and get all of that looking good."
