Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) is a four-star safety prospect from central Florida. Many thought he could pull the trigger and commit to the University of Florida at the Gator's Friday Night Lights camp. But that didn't come true and it's looking like the Harris recruitment will drag out longer.
"I really want to visit Texas before I make a decision," Harris said. "It's looking like I could make an official visit there on September 1st. I may try and make all five of my visits before I decide."
Many feel he could decide between the Gators and Longhorns.
"I do really like both those teams," Harris said. "But I am also talking to schools like Florida State a lot. Right now I just really want to make my official visits."
Harris, 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds, attended Florida's Friday Night Lights but didn't work out. He's been busy preparing for this weekend's Gridiron Kings and his season this fal.
"I just came in town for the evening and I actually came late so I just chilled," Harris said. "My legs gave out and I needed an ice bath. I have been battling and working hard. Hopefully I can go this weekend at Gridiron Kings. If not, I will just be there for the guy and try and be a leader."
This was another unofficial visit for Harris to Gainesville. Each time he gets a little more comfortable.
"I know everything there is about Florida," Harris said. "I just like to go hang out. All the guys there have their little say of why I should be a Gator. They throw all kinds of things at me, all kinds of sayings. It's cool. We'll see."
