Rodney Johnson: Junior Highlights

Rodney Johnson is one of the top athletes in Virginia. See the Booker T. Washington High (Norfolk, Va.) star in action in the presentation by FOX Sports NEXT.

Rodney Johnson is one of the leader s for Booker T. Washington's football team. Johnson had a big junior season and it paid off during the college football spring evaluation period. During that time, he picked up scholarship offers from Furman, Hampton, Old Dominion, Richmond, and West Virginia. Johnson, one of the faster players in Virginia, also excels in track.

Johnson is good looking prospect. He is a smart and instinctive football player. He projects as a safety at the college level and has all the tools to excel at the position. Johnson covers a lot of ground in the secondary and has knack for making big plays. He is also extremely physical and a big hitter in the defensive backfield. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Johnson is good in run support and also defends the pass very well. He has the frame to easily add 20 pounds. The added weight, along with his speed, should allow him to flourish in college. Johnson should be even better this fall and look for him to start attracting interest from more schools as the season progresses. When Signing Day comes, someone will get a very good player.
