"I plan on making my commitment on Saturday," said Jones. "I am going to try to visit Ole Miss either Thursday or Friday.
"They have been talking to me about visiting there since we were back in school, but I haven't been able to make it over there yet."
Last week, Jones was able to spend some time on the campus of Mississippi State University.
"I had a great time over there," said Jones. "I got to talk with all of the coaches and I got to see all of the facilities.
"I got to tour the school and see everything. I like the atmosphere over there. That could be my home away from home."
Jones reports that he has good relationship with a pair of Bulldog assistant coaches.
"Coach (Geoff) Collins is my recruiter and I like him," said Jones. "I got to meet Coach (Chris) Wilson and he's a great defensive line coach.
"I like all of the coaches over there."
The Bulldogs added one of Jones' teammates late last week when Trent Simpson committed to Coach Dan Mullen.
"Trent is a great player and he is like my brother," said Jones. "Where he goes is not really going to affect my decision though.
"I have to make the right decision for me no matter where he goes.
"We would be close even if I went somewhere far off or if I went to Mississippi State with him."
The Alabama prepster reports that he has not made any firm plans on how to announce his college decision, but he hopes to do that soon.
"I don't really know what I am going to do with it," said Jones. "I am just going to let it all play out and figure it out from there."
