Florida DT getting looks

Jondarius Gardner is a standout defensive tackle prospect from Pine Forest High in Pensacola and Scout has the latest.

Jondarius Gardner landed spring offers from FAU and Louisiana-Lafayette and now he's searching for more. He talked about his most recent camp experience.

"I went to Florida this past weekend," Gardner said. "Friday Night Lights, it was one of the best camps I went to this summer. They taught me a lot of things and I enjoyed learning new things and it was great competition, a great environment."

Gardner, 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, says he's had communication with the Gator coaches but no offer has been talked about yet.

"They just told me I did very good and I should be hearing from them soon," he said.

Gardner, who says he grew up a Florida fan, also lists Tennessee and Missouri as schools he's most interested in.

"Tennessee is very interested," he said. "I've also been talking to Minnesota and Southern Miss. I'm looking for some place where I can be comfortable and a place where I can call my second home. I want good coaches along with good players, a good team overall."
