Four-star corner sent waves through the state of Kentucky Wednesday night when it became public that he was switching his commitment from his hometown Louisville Cardinals to the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Ryan White is one of the top players in Kentucky and in most years, he'd probably be the best player in the state. He has been a top target for several programs, including the local favorite, the Louisville Cardinals. He made his commitment to the Cards in February. But he began to waiver recently.

White told FOX Sports Next why he had a change of heart and what sold him on the Vanderbilt Commodores.

"What really made me switch was the education. That was big because I'm not one of those players who's set on going to the NFL," said White. "I have to fall back on an education to get a job (after college)," White continued.

What was it about Vandy that stood out for the Trinity corner?

"The biggest thing that really stands out is the education. But I also like the coaches there a lot," he said. "They are getting way better. And they will be competing for championships in the future. And it's the SEC," White finished.

White is the number three rated player in Kentucky according to FOX Sports Next.
