Johnnie Dixon (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Dwyer) will be one of the most sought after recruits from south Florida next season in the class of 2014. Dixon, 5-foot-11 and 190-pounds, plays receiver.

"I am a physical receiver and I am also a team guy, a team player," Dixon said. "I am looking for a balanced but fast paced offense. Right now I am open."

According to Dixon he has scholarship offers from Miami (first to offer), Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Ohio State, South Florida, and West Virginia (most recent offer).

"I have eight total offers right now," Dixon said. "I feel good about everything but it's so early for me. I am not really thinking about recruiting or visits or anything like that. But it's a nice start."

This summer Dixon was active with summer camps but stayed in-state.

"I camped at Miami, Florida, and FSU," Dixon said. "I also went to a 7-on-7 at USF. So I hit the ‘Big Three' and USF. The camps were great because I got to spend some time with all the coaches and I picked up some things to work on. I also had a chance to check out USF a little and that was pretty nice too."

There are a couple of schools that Dixon would like to hear from. They are both out of state powers.

"I haven't heard much from LSU and I am hoping that Virginia Tech offers soon," Dixon said.
