Bickley, 5-foot-8, 155-pounds, caught everything thrown his way in Tuesday's scrimmage with Lake, and had the ability to run away from people in the open field. Bickley impressed last summer at various camps and continued his play in live action.
"I did well today, but I expect a lot from myself," Bickley stated. "On defense, I could have made a few more plays knocking balls down, but I did well on offense. I caught the ball and tried to make people miss and make big plays."
With one offer to his credit, Bickley is just starting to hit the recruiting radar. As his junior film is distributed he could see more interest headed his way.
"I do have that one offer from Akron, but I'm just now starting to hear from other schools," he explained. "Ohio University, Pittsburgh, Northern Illinois and Toledo are showing interest. I think people might be scared because of my size, and I need to put up a great film my junior year to get noticed. I will be going to more camps next summer and I think my name will be out there a lot more by then."
EVALUATION: The size is a drawback, especially at cornerback, but Bickley is tough as nails and can fly. He can catch the football in traffic, and should be a dangerous return man. As a slot receiver, Bickley will be a tough matchup one-on-one for any defender. Getting him the football in space is his ticket at the next level, and he will be a prospect of note in the class of 2014 in Ohio.
