Tenpenny Tops Arkansas Rankings

Scout released their pre-season state ranking in the South on Monday and the running back that is committed to Alabama is the best in Arkansas.

Altee Tenpenny is coming back from an injury that sidelined all of the 2011 season, but he was so impressive this summer and as a freshman and sophomore that he is still the top prospect in the state of Arkansas as he enters his senior year.

"I feel good and I feel like I am getting back to normal," said Tenpenny when Scout asked about his health. "It is a little sore at times, but I have been feeling good lately."

Tenpenny is a 5-foot-11, 210 pound running back that could challenge for the top running back in the country if he comes back the way most expect him to.

He is that good and he feels good about being named the top prospect in his state.

"It is a huge blessing and a tremendous honor to be recognized as the top prospect in Arkansas."

As good as it feels, Tenpenny has bigger goals.

"Being no. one in the state has never been a goal of mine. It is great that I am, but my goal has always been to be number one in the nation."

That is what this Scout100 running back is working towards. He has both team and personal goals for this season.

"I want to be conference champs, then become state champs. Then, I want to run for 3,000 yards and score 30 touchdowns."

Tenpenny remains committed to Alabama, but he does plan to take some official visits.

"I know I will visit Alabama, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and Georgia. I do not know about the last one," he said.
