Tight end Evan Jansen picked up a half dozen offers since the end of his junior season. This summer he made his commitment to Indiana.
"It was fun being recruited and visiting places but once I committed I finally had a chance to relax. On the football field, my focus over the summer was gaining weight, but also keeping speed and quickness."
Being a senior, the tight end is ready for even more responsibilities this season.
"My involvement is a big difference from last season to this season since now I'm starting. I also think catching and receiving yards will be huge for me this year."
Jansen says that taking an official visit to Indiana might not be in the plans.
"It actually hasn't been discussed yet or thought about much. I feel with it being so close, and me being able to visit any weekend, it really isn't necessary to take an official visit."
So, what does the senior expect from the Hoosiers this season?
"A winning season may be a stretch, especially in the Big Ten, but they could easily win four games which would be a great step in the right direction. Maybe a winning season a year or two after that."
For now, Jansen is focusing on his nationally ranked Moeller (OH) team and going as far as they can this season.
"Our first game is this Sunday on ESPNU which is obviously exciting. Our game vs Elder is at the University of Cincinnati and we are bringing out new Nike Pro Convey jerseys which will be awesome. And of course the St. Xavier game which is our biggest rivalry."
