Favored Kenowa Hills jumped off to an early lead, but a scrappy Traverse City West bunch clawed their way to a 9-6 deficit at halftime. A long 4th quarter drive culminated with a Titans touchdown with 1:41 to play to go up 12-9. Kenowa took to the air, completing several quick passes and scoring in 29 seconds to go up 16-12. The Titans made a late charge into Knight territory, but had a pass intercepted to end the game.

Junior offensive lineman Connor Hayes showed why he has several offers including two BCS already. He's a tough kid who regularly buried the guy across from him in the run game. He's strong, plays with great effort and doesn't move around too bad for a 6'3, 290-lb kid either. He's a right guard right now and I think that's where he'll likely play in college, or potentially center as well. I'd like to see him continue to get quicker and continue to work on his pass blocking, but there is a lot to like here. He plans to visit Indiana, who has already offered this fall, along with Michigan, Michigan State, and Minnesota.
Linebacker Derrick Diver is a 6'3, 220-lb kid who made some nice plays. He looked like a kid who can definitely play at the next level, likely at the D2 level or potentially as a D1 walk-on.
Junior defensive end Zach Evans had a big game, forcing a fumble and registering three sacks. At 6'3, 240-lbs, he has good size and he plays with a lot of aggressiveness. Last year, he played stand up outside linebacker, but I thought he looked more comfortable with his hand down. He still has to work on getting off blocks, but he's strong, has a great motor and good closing speed. He does not have any offers yet, but I think he's about to receive a lot more attention from colleges.
Junior defensive back Josh Fransted, who made the game sealing interception is a nice sized 6'3 kid who made a couple of other nice plays including blowing up a screen pass and a couple of other tackles.
Senior wide receiver/safety Dylan Smith, who caught the game winning touchdown, is a solid route runner with good hands. He's not a burner, but he's a good athlete who should, at the least, have opportunities at the D2 level.
