West: Preseason Top Ten Middle Linebackers

Honolulu (Hawaii) Punahou middle linebacker Isaac Savaiinaea tops the preseason West middle linebacker rankings...

West: Preseason Top Ten Linebackers
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
High School: Punahou
Size: 6-3, 230
Recruiting: Committed to Stanford
The Skinny: Savaiinaea is everything you want in an inside linebacker. He has size, toughness, above average athleticism, is a solid tackler and plays with a motor. He's a huge hitter who plays sideline to sideline and has the athletic ability to be a three down linebacker. He is regarded as the best prospect to come out of Hawaii since former Punahou linebacker Manti Teo.
Location: Tulare, Calif.
High School: Mission Oak
Size: 6-2/248
Recruiting: Colorado, San Diego State, Oregon State, UCLA
The Skinny: Few players upped their stock this offseason like Palma, going from relative unknown to big time prospect after dominating at the SoCal NFTC and Oakland NFTC, the latter where he won MVP honors.  He also did very well at The Opening, helping his team win the Nike 7ON and then followed up with a strong performance at Gridiron Kings.
Location: Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
High School: Rancho Cucamonga
Size: 6-2/230
Recruiting: San Diego State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Arizona State
The Skinny: Latu is a physical run-stuffing linebacker, who looked excellent this spring on the 7v7 circuit, dropping into coverage.  But he's at his best when he's making tackles and hitting people.  He and his twin brother are the heart-and-soul of one of the most talented defenses in the West.
Location: Bellevue, Wash.
High School: Bellevue
Size: 6-2/228
Recruiting: Committed to Washington
The Skinny: Constantine has the ability to play either inside linebacker or outside linebacker, but is likely an inside guy.  Physical against the run and solid in coverage, Constantine has been a rock in the Wolverines' past two unbeaten seasons and state championship runs.
Location: Grass Valley, Calif.
High School: Nevada Union
Size: 6-2/225
Recruiting: Committed to Boise State
The Skinny: Vallejo is the top linebacker in the Sacramento area, a classic middle linebacker, who can play sideline to sideline, nice and agile and good against the run.  He had a great performance at the Oakland NFTC as well.

The Next Five:
6. Keishawn Bierria (Harbor City, Calif.)
7. Colton Goeas (Honolulu, Hawaii)- Committed to Tennessee
8. DeAndre Miller (Buckeye, Ariz.)- Committed to Arizona
9. George Frazier (Monrovia, Calif.)- Committed to Colorado
10. Koa Kaleopaa (La Mirada, Calif.)
