Hunter sets visit to Lincoln

After surprising many at The Opening, Torii Hunter Jr. is one of the most talked about prospects in the country the last few weeks. On Monday night, he set up an official visit to Nebraska.

Big Red Report has learned that Prosper HS (TX) wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. has set up an official visit to Nebraska. The three-star prospect will visit Lincoln for the Huskers game against Wisconsin on September 29th. The senior confirmed the news in a text message to Big Red Report on Monday night.

The nation's No. 44 wide receiver, Hunter has already visited Lincoln once before, the first time in early August.

"I always knew that Nebraska had a tradition and had a great team, but I didn't know about the academic success they have had," said Hunter at the time. "The academic side for Nebraska is definitely a plus. Their academic facilities were amazing. Nebraska really gives their student-athletes all of the tools to be successful."

Hunter is the son of MLB all-star and current Los Angeles Angel Torii Hunter and will also be attempting to play baseball at the college level.

As a junior, he recorded 43 receptions for 750 yards and 11 scores.
