FSU commit sees big season

Freddie Stevenson is a talented linebacker prospect from Bartow High and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Freddie Stevenson emerged as one of the top linebacker prospects in the entire state this past spring and he decided to make an early commitment to Florida State. He talked about the season he expects the Noles to have.

"I pretty much see the Clemson game as the deciding game," Stevenson said. "If they win that then they will have a really good chance at a championship run."

Stevenson, 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, saw a good opportunity at Florida State.

"They're gonna lose three linebackers and maybe four so I have a good chance to play," he said. "And the best players will play."

Despite the commitment, Stevenson is still being actively recruited by several other schools -- Louisville, N.C. State, USF, UCF, and West Virginia among others.

"Other schools are still trying but I don't know if I'm taking other officials yet," he said.

Stevenson finished his junior season with 95 tackles, three sacks, forced four fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
