Two games into his junior season 2014 cornerback Jawanza Adams of Woodmont High is working hard to show college coaches that he's worthy of that elusive first scholarship offer. We caught up with Adams and he gave us the very latest on Saturday morning.
"Things are going alright. I've got 9 tackles, 2 pass breakups, and 1 interception so far this season."
Teams are not challenging the Woodmont corner too often though early on and he suffered a minor setback last night in a tough loss versus Mauldin.
"Yeah there are not too many throws deep coming my way but I have to make a play when its thrown my direction. The interception I had was against Wren."
"I sprained my ankle early in the game vs Mauldin last night so it ended the night early but I'll be back very soon."
Adams says he hopes to be back in action this coming week for the Wildcats. The 2014 prospect also talked with us about some upcoming visits he hopes to make on Saturdays as the college football season is getting underway.
One new school has been in contact with Adams as of late too he told us.
"I just started hearing from Nebraska recently, they are the latest school to start recruiting me."
