Barrett Shines in First Start

FRISCO, TEXAS -- Class of 2014 stud offensive lineman Tyus Barrett played strong in his first start for top-ranked Dallas Skyline in its 42-28 win over The Woodlands at FC Dallas Stadium on Saturday. After he spoke with

Tyus Barrett, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive tackle from Dallas (Texas) Skyline High and his teammates were faced with a stiff test on Saturday in form of The Woodlands (Texas) High.

The team from the Houston area made the trip up from I-45 to face off against the No. 1 team in The Lone Star State per the FOX Sports NEXT National Top 50.

At one point The Woodlands took a 28-21 lead in the second half and that is when the Raiders offense took over and scored three unanswered scores to walk away with the victory.

"It felt great," Barrett said after the win. "It was my first ever varsity start and it just felt great to get out there and beat a good team like that."

"We didn't allow a sack the whole game and that is big. We don't want our quarterback to get hit and we want to keep Devante ( 4-star quarterback Devante Kincade) from getting his jersey dirty. If we did that then we played pretty well."

Offers have already come in by way of Texas Tech, West Virginia and Ole Miss and all of the heavy hitters are showing him attention.

His recruitment is still in it's forming stages and he does not have a set favorites list, but four schools have caught his eye early on.

"The ones I am really interested in so far are Alabama, Michigan, LSU and Texas A&M," Barrett responded when asked about his top choices.

Barrett's concentration is on the season, but he does hope that he gets the chance to take a few unofficial visits.

"I believe I'll be going to Ole Miss and Texas game and a couple more," Barrett informed. "(I) haven't got all of them planned out."
