Outlaw Sees Recruiting Heat Up

2013 offensive lineman Joshua Outlaw (Lithonia, GA) has been contacted my numerous schools since his decommitment from Florida. He wants to be patient with the process.

Lithonia, Georgia offensive guard Joshua Outlaw said today in an interview that he has received interest from a large number of schools since Outlaw reopened his recruitment in August.

Outlaw listed Tennesssee, Georgia, Arkansas, Miami, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Florida State. NC State, and Central Florida as just some of the schools who have contacted him recently.

Outlaw said that he has had contact with TCU recently as well.

The 6'4, 275 pound lineman said he is looking for a school where he feels comfortable and feels he can come in and make a difference.

"This is a big decision," Outlaw said. "I'm looking at a comfortable place where I can come in and get a good degree with a good major."

"But mostly, I just want a place where I can be comfortable because if you're comfortable, you won't be miserable and won't end up having to transfer," he said.

Outlaw specifically mentioned Tennessee, saying that he has had contact with offensive line coach Sam Pittman who was hired at Tennessee in January of 2012 after spending several seasons at North Carolina.

"I've talked with Coach Pittman. I'm definitely interested. I might be trying to go up there and see a game," Outlaw said about the Vols.

Outlaw could not remember specifically who he had talked to at TCU, but he did mention that Boise State "actually contacted me today."

"I'm still pretty fresh on the recruiting trail a little bit," said Outlaw. "Got to see how my schedule works. Ill see what schools give me interest and start to make a favorites list."

He expects for interest to pick up as coaches become able to call recruits.

As Outlaw continues to receive interest from schools across the country, he admitted that location was not a big factor in his decision making.

"I'm definitely open to seeing new things, and location is not a big factor," Outlaw said.

Outlaw's King High School team will open their season against Southwest this week.
