McMillon Strong in Opener

Jake McMillon and the Abilene defense was strong in the season opening 13-10 win over Lewisville Hebron on Friday night. After the game FOX Sports NEXT caught up with him to get his thoughts.

Jake McMillon, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end from Abilene (Texas) High and his teammates limited Hebrron to three offensive points in Friday night's 13-10 victory.

Mcmillon had some key plays to help along the way. He had back-to-back sacks in one series and towards the end of the game it was his pressure that would force an incomplete pass to ice the game.

"Going in to halftime I was a little disappointed. I thought we were going to have a bigger lead," McMillon said of the 7-7 game.

"But in the locker room our coaches cooked up a pretty good game plan and we got after them after that."

"The whole team we just had a good effort," McMillon continued. "you can't coach that and I am sure we will com out strong next game."

On the recruiting front McMillon attended a "few camps this summer", but has his first bog visit on tap.

"I am about to go to the Baylor football game," McMillon informed. "So I will be there this weekend. I am ready to go see them play. They are playing SMU in Waco."

Schools like Texas A&M, Texas, TCU and Texas Tech are some of the schools that have reportedly also been interested in McMillon's skills.
