Gibson Gives The Latest

Four-star wide receiver Shelton Gibson is off to a flying start to his senior season at Cleveland Heights. He has led his team to consecutive blowout wins.

Senior Shelton Gibson has certainly solidified his spot as not only the top wide receiver in the senior class in Ohio, but the four-star prospect is also one of the top overall prospects in the 2013 class in-state.

Gibson, 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, has scored twice in each of his team's first two games, and both were lopsided victories. The speedball is pleased with his team's progress.

"We are playing well as a team, and everyone is working very hard," Gibson stated. "We made it to the playoffs last year, but losing in the first round really hurt. Our goal is a deep playoff run this year."

"I think my play is better than last year, and I'm a lot smarter player," he added. "Everybody knows I have the speed, but I wanted to be a better route-runner and I'm doing that. Everything is going great, to be honest."

With offers from the likes of Auburn, Ohio State, Illinois, Nebraska, and others, Gibson has great options. He stressed that recruiting is on the back burner right now, as he focuses on his season.

"I'm not thinking about recruiting too much, because my team needs me 100% focused on what I need to do," he admitted. "Ohio State is still my number-one school, but I'm still looking at Auburn and a few other schools.

"I might get down to Ohio State with (teammate) De'Niro Laster in the next few weeks, but nothing is set up yet," he continued. "I plan on taking all my five official visits after the season, and making my decision near National Signing Day. I do not have my five official visits planned yet, nor do I know which schools they will be. I'm still open to hearing from everyone."
