Davis Still on MSU Board

Grand Blanc (Mich.) senior defensive end Daniel Davis visited Michigan State for their home opener on Friday, and the Spartans are continuing to recruit him.

Grand Blanc's Daniel Davis, a senior defensive end currently holding 11 scholarship offers, was a visitor for Michigan State's win over Boise State on Friday.

"It was great," the 6'3, 240-lb Davis said. "It was a great atmosphere. It was really cool to see the new scoreboard they had up there. The defense looked amazing. That was really my main focus. I really liked how they played with the kids coming back."

The visit also allowed Davis to speak with the Spartan coaches once again.

"I talked to Coach Barnett after the game. He asked how the season was going so far. He knew about the first game cause of Gerald [Holmes]. I told him it wasn't so good, but we're building. He told me he'd give me a call within this week to talk and get the process started up again, and he'll be at a game this season."

Davis continues to talk to schools who are interested in him, and plans to take more visits coming up, including seeing the Spartans one more time, but this time they'll be visitors as well.

"I've talked to the schools who already offered me scholarships: Cincinnati, Toledo, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan all called recently. This weekend, I'll be down at Central Michigan for the MSU game and next weekend, I think I'll go down to Toledo when they play Bowling Green."

Davis says he plays to send out a highlight tape some time after his fourth game.
