Quick Update on Benenoch

FOX Sports NEXT is in the streets this fall to bring you all the coverage from across the Midlands region. Recently, we caught up with Seven Lakes offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch from Katy, Texas. He is reporting on his recent trip to Baylor and informed FOX Sports NEXT about a few of his next moves…

This past weekend Katy (TX) Seven Lakes offensive lineman Caleb Benenoch got to take in one of the programs that made his top list. After playing his season opener in West Houston, Benenoch traveled to Waco to take in the full experience of Baylor

"It was a great trip. I got to hang out with the players all weekend," Benenoch said. "I bonded with the guys and got to spend some time in the locker room with the offensive linemen."

Let the record show, and Benenoch is well aware of the success that the Baylor program has had in regards to producing top linemen. The coaching staff has echoed to him as well and that is being considered as Benenoch looks to start seriously narrowing things down.

During the game, he got to see firsthand how the Baylor offense clicked in the Sunday win over SMU.

"The line did nice in the game. They did not give up a sack," Benenoch said. "The offense moves fast in that spread attack. I like that. I know that with Baylor, the coaches develop good lineman and they can help you get to the next level."

And while the entire Baylor experience was a good one, the 6-foot-6, 320-pound Benenoch is on to the next stop. This weekend he will be making his way to College Station, TX on September 8 for the Florida/Texas A&M game.

The next weekend, and the following, Benenoch will make his way to back to Big 12 Conference schools.

"The Saturday after the A&M game, we play on a Saturday. I hope that weekend I can make it to a Texas game," Benenoch said. "Then when we have our bye week, I will take an official to Oklahoma. Then I will try to visit Michigan State, Arkansas and UCLA."

Of the final three mentions, Benenoch said that UCLA was likely to get an official as well. He originally stated that he would love to have his decision made by September 28 for the homecoming match up against Mayde Creek. But with the new offer from the Bruins, and his wanting to visit a couple of other programs, that timetable may get pushed back.

Stay tuned.
