Nick Chubb High On Two In-State Teams

Cedartown High School Georgia running back Nick Chubb has been hard to contain after the first two games of his junior season. Nick is averaging over 375 rushing yards per game and he has scored 9 touchdowns. The fast start is sure to put Chubb on the recruiting map.

The amount of interest that Nick Chubb receives may not make a difference when it comes to making his college choice. So far most of the attention Chubb is getting comes from the two in-state schools, Georgia Tech and Georgia. "That may be because I do want to stay in-state and play for the home team."

Chubb was unable to attend Georgia Tech's opening game with Presbyterian because he had previous plans. "The coaches at Georgia Tech have shown they are interested in me by telling me I can come to any game I want. I plan to go to the Miami game on the 22nd." Chubb doesn't have any plans at this time to attend any of the Georgia games.

Nick is aware that Georgia has a freshman running back starting for them and he knows that Georgia Tech runs the option offense but neither will be a concern in making his college choice. "Well I do see that Georgia has the freshman starting and they have a good one committed to them but you can't shy away from competition."

Running in the option offense would not be a concern for Chubb as Cedartown also runs the option. "I am very comfortable with that and feel that I could be a good addition to what Coach (Paul) Johnson runs at Georgia Tech."

Neither of the two in-state school holds an edge in Chubb's recruitment at this time. "They are both even right now."
