Joseph Yearby (5-9/190) had an outstanding night against top ranked Bradenton Manatee and arguably the top defensive front in the Sunshine State. He played quarterback and running back and Yearby finished with 103 yards on the ground and a couple rushing touchdowns.
Yearby did much of his damage running the zone-read, pounding the ball between the tackles or bouncing things to the outside. This kid is so deceptive and he will do whatever the situation dictates. If he needs to run by a defender Yearby will use his great speed to do so. If he needs to run through a defender, he will lower his shoulder and use his power. In the open field he can also be so elusive with his outstanding quickness. This kid has balance, super feet and vision. He doesn't dance around, rather runs north-south and at a good pad level. Yearby has it all.
Yearby has committed to Florida State. He's a member of the Class of 2014 and there's no question he will be one of the highest rated running back prospects coming out of this junior class.
