BCS offer for Florida WR

Dantwaun ONeal is a talented wide receiver prospect from Deland High and Scout caught up with him to discuss the latest.

Dantwaun ONeal is off to a strong start so far this season.

"I've been getting a lot of deep ball and as of right now I have like 16 catches for 200 yards," ONeal said. "I'm getting the ball much more."

ONeal, 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds, had landed a spring offer from FIU. He just picked up a new offer recently.

"Auburn and Georgia Tech have been calling so far," he said. "I'm gonna take visits soon. Georgia Tech offered me and Auburn wants me to come up."

Georgia Tech likes big receivers in their offense so it's not a surprise they offered the 6-3 youngster.

"The school is great, academics, and they put wide receivers in the NFL."

While Auburn hasn't offered yet the Tigers have been showing a lot of interest.

"They're a great school and they play in in the SEC," he said. "It's great competition. I can see myself at both schools."

ONeal, who says GT coaches attempted to contact him while we were talking, talked about what he'll be looking for in a school.

"Great coaches, looking forward to playing early, and great teachers willing to make the best out of me."

As a Prospect: ONeal is a big target at 6-foot-3 and he runs pretty well. He comes from a well-coached program and could develop into a solid possession receiver at the college level. Several schools are showing early interest in him and he should start collecting some more Division 1 offers sometime later this season.
