Monroe Recaps Big 12 Trip

FOX Sports NEXT is in the streets this fall to bring you all the coverage from across the Midlands region. Recently, we caught up with Bush quarterback Ronald Monroe from Richmond, Texas. He recently took a quick break from his team's solid undefeated season to visit a Big 12 Conference school…

While Richmond (TX) Bush quarterback Ronald Monroe is busy leading his team each week, it seems as though the new members of the Big 12 Conference TCU is doing the same. Each squad has an undefeated record so far in 2012.

So when Monroe had some free time, he wanted to take in the game day atmosphere in Fort Worth.

"I went down for the game against Virginia. I must say that it was pretty awesome," Monroe said. "I got to see firsthand how the team runs itself. Overall, it was a fun experience."

At the moment, the 6-foot-4, 195-pound Monroe does not have any offers, but has a laundry list of schools checking in on him. Of course, TCU is one of them.

Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Baylor, Mississippi State, Texas Tech and Northwestern are just a couple of the schools whose coaches have told him that they will be watching closely this season.

"I got to talk with the TCU coaches and they are encouraging me to have a great season. They told me that they will be watching me and look forward to recruiting me hard next year," Monroe said.

This season, Monroe has been productive in leading the offense. Through three games, he has a total of 378 yards of offense and has scored five touchdowns. The junior quarterback said that Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech have all invited him to a game for this season. He has not yet decided when or where he plans to go next.
