Scout.com four-star Fred Ross, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver showed that he has some of the best hands in the state.
In the contest, he pulled down some tough catches in traffic and scored on a 64-yard touchdown run and caught a 27-yard touchdown pass -- both scores helped pave the way to the win.
"We are playing good as a team," said Ross who hauled in 6 passes for 90 yards in the contest. "We just need to keep it up and keep doing everything right."
So far this season Ross has asserted himself as a go to target. All-in-all he has collected 16 passes for 314 yards and six receiving touchdowns.
"I think my route running has improved," Ross informed. "And I am doing a better job catching the ball with my hands."
"I just got stay focused."
Ross has made a non-binding verbal commitment to sign a letter of intent with Oklahoma State and the Pokes had staff in Mesquite on Friday putting eyes on Ross.
"Coach (Doug) Meacham was out here," Ross said. "It was good to know they want to watch me play. It shows they really care."
"I'm going to get up there soon to try and watch them play."
Despite being committed to OSU Ross still has schools coming after.
Ross has yet to schedule his official visit to Stillwater, but would like to go "during the season".
"Me and my mom are still trying to plan all of it out," Ross explained.
"I just want to get out there and see how the fans are, how I feel and how they make me feel -- feeling close to home."
