It was a big weekend for five-star running back Ty Isaac of Joliet Catholic (Ill.) High.
Friday night he caught two touchdown passes in a hard fought battle against a talented Marist High team, a game with Joliet Catholic lost 27-24.
Less than 12-hours later, Isaac hopped on a plane to see his first game at USC, where he has been committed to since May.
"I had a good time," Isaac said. "I was just glad to see the game day atmosphere."
He continued, "I was impressed by it and had a good time at the game and on campus."
It was the first game Isaac had seen in person, and he came away from the day impressed.
"I started off by getting to meet the players and see some positional meetings," Isaac said. "Then just spent a lot of time on campus with the guys."
The 6-foot-2, 220 pound back's favorite part, was pretty easy to pinpoint.
"My favorite part of the visit was probably the game," Isaac said. "Or just being able to be around the team more."
Isaac has had a roller coaster senior year. During the five-star prospects first game of the season, he injured his shoulder. After sitting out three weeks due to torn ligaments, he returned to the field.
"So far I would say the team is doing really well," Isaac said. "But personally it is kind of disappointing because of the injury and it is kind of just bugging for a while."
The most recent update? Isaac has taken some reps at running back but is seeing just as much time out wide at receiver.
"I mean as far as just being able to touch the ball yeah it's nice to be on the field," Isaac said. 'But as far as position it's not my favorite, I am a true running back."
But his shoulder is improving, day by day.
"I'm doing well," Isaac said. "My shoulder is feeling better, and i'm just taking it day by day."
