2013 RB Marcus Cox has earned another offer; this time, from Bowling Green.
"They offered last night," Cox said. "A member of Bowling Green's coaching staff messaged me on Facebook and told me to give him a call. When I did, they offered me."
Cox admits that the offer was unexpected.
"I don't know much about it, so I'll have to start doing my research on them," Cox said of Bowling Green. "I will certainly start looking into that."
Cox named his top four schools of interest this summer, including Miami (OH), Ohio University, UNC Charlotte and Middle Tennessee. However, after earning an offer from Appalachian State last month, Cox adjusted his list.
Now, he's ready to name a leader.
"The school on top of my list is App State," Cox said. "I've been on an unofficial visit this fall. It was really nice. I'm going with some of my friends up there next week for App State's Homecoming."
While he's named his top school of interest, Cox isn't ready to name an announcement date. "I might commit before the season is over," Cox said. "I might not. I don't know what the future holds. If our high school season [at Dacula High School in Georgia] turns around, I might hold out. If not, I may commit soon."
Cox lists playing time and his ability to make an immediate impact as factors in his decision.
"What makes my situation at App State so good is that they have two senior running backs," Cox admitted. "They're both leaving. Right now, they want me and one other running back. If we both commit, we've been told we'll play as true freshman.
"I could get up there and start from the get-go."
Cox has not yet scheduled an official visit this fall.
