Bierria Discusses Corvallis Visit

Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne linebacker Keishawn Bierria discusses his experience at Oregon State. Look inside for the details.

Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne linebacker Keishawn Bierria is having a big senior season that has included a perfect start for the L.A. City Section power, and a recent win over Gardena (Calif.) Serra, in which he had two critical fumble recoveries and a touchdown.

"This season has just been what we are building for," Bierria said after the win. "We have a lot of top athletes on our team that have been overlooked and this is our time to shine."

With the hot start, Bierria has quickly become one of the most highly sought after uncommitted players in Southern California, with offers from Arizona, Colorado, Colorado State, Iowa State, Oregon State and San Diego State.

The 6-1, 215-pound linebacker says that he has also been in contact with Washington, Washington State, Utah, Iowa, Oregon and Wisconsin.

Bierria remains wide open and is taking the recruiting process slow, but he recently took a trip to Corvallis, and raved about the visit.

"I took a trip up to Oregon State for the Wisconsin game and it was a real college atmosphere," he said. "It was great.

"First of all, they beat Wisconsin and I was sitting there like, ‘Wow.' Their linebackers, the whole defense and offense was connecting from the first play of the game. They were out there hitting and rallying up. They were playing real college football with a top team."

The three-star linebacker said he was impressed with the passion of the Oregon State fans when they stormed the field after the Beavers' 10-7 win.

"They were on the field for like three or four hours," Bierria said. "I have never seen that before. It was great."

Instead of storming the field with the fans, Bierria took the opportunity to meet the coaches and players in the locker room.

"After the game all of the players introduced themselves. They didn't even know me and they still introduced themselves. I met all of the players and all of the coaches. It was pretty tight."

So what is Bierria looking for in a college?

"I'm just looking for a great college atmosphere, a place that feels like home and a team that will use me to my maximum," he said. "I'm real big with my family so it just needs to feel right and not be too far away from home."
