Live Evaluation: Su'a Cravens

Get an in-depth scouting report on USC safety commit Su'a Cravens from Vista Murrieta's 42-6 win over Palisades.

The matchup against Palisades may not have been the ideal game to scout five-star safety Su'a Cravens because of the run-dominated offense that Palisades runs, but Cravens still showcased many of the skills that have made him our top overall player in California.

The USC commit is listed at 6-1, 205 pounds but he looks like he has added some good weight to his frame since the offseason and is likely closer to the 215-pound range.

On the night, Cravens had two quarterbacks sacks and two other tackles-for-loss while sitting out most of the second half in a 42-6 blowout win.

The five-star prospect says he plans to play safety at USC, but realizes that if he adds 20 more pounds he will likely be an outside linebacker. And after watching him knife off the edge and make plays in the backfield, it will be vey tempting for the USC coaches to utilizes his athleticism at linebacker, much like they have done with Hayes Pullard and Dion Bailey.

Cravens showed good play recognition from his safety spot, has good speed and was the hardest hitting player on the field. He is the true definition of a football player in that he plays with great intensity, relentless effort and does everything well.

The Vista Murrieta standout is the rare talent that could be an elite prospect at several different positions. Cravens said he is 100% committed to USC and likely won't visit any other schools.
