Scout Out West: Bellarmine Prep-Stadium

Scout takes a look at the top prospects from the Bellarmine Prep-Sunset game...

Game Scouted:
Tacoma (Wash.) Bellarmine Prep vs. Tacoma (Wash.) Stadium

Scout Out West
Sefo Liufau –QUARTERBACK– Tacoma (WA) Bellarmine Prep- 2013
Scout's Take: Liufau had a workmanlike, albeit brief outing on Friday night. Bellarmine easily dispatched Stadium 56-7, the entire second half played with a running clock. The three-star Colorado commit, looked the best we've seen in three years, poised in the pocket, more command and very accurate. Liufau threw a 35-yard touchdown pass on his first snap, and was 7-for-8 for 173 yards and three touchdown passes, while also rushing for an 11-yard score. The future Buff passer has filled out more too, looking about 210 pounds on his 6-foot-4 frame. Here are higlights from Liufau's performance against Stadium..

Recruiting: Committed to Colorado

Calvin Chandler –outside linebacker– Tacoma (WA) bellarmine prep- 2013
Scout's Take: Chandler played on both sides of the ball, both at outside linebacker and receiver, and was a bigger impact defensively, where Bellarmine pitched a shutout until the waning moments of the game.  Chandler is noticeably bigger, now up to 6-2, 210, and looks like he could be an effective outside backer at the D-I level.  He also has the quickness necessary if he wanted to drop back into safety or even a rover position might suit him best.  As a receiver, he only had two receptions, but he showed very good hands on each, good route running and decent speed.

Recruiting: Offers from Army, Air Force, Navy and Wyoming
Scout Out West
Garrett McKay –wide receiver – tacoma (WA) bellarmine prep- 2014
Scout's Take: McKay has been huge for the Lions since coming in this season, giving them the speedy option they lost when Isaiah Flynn gave up football.  McKay had two touchdowns, and a big reception, where he broke around six tackles, switched up field, and turned about an eight-yard gain into a 50-yard gain.  He's not real big, about 5-9, 165-pounds, but he's quick and catch the ball.  He looks like he'd be an ideal slot in the spread.

Recruiting: Interest in NW area programs.
