Samples Enjoying Successful Start To Season

Ra'Shaad Samples of Dallas (Skyline), Texas is having a really successful season and the Raiders are sitting at 3-1 with a 1-0 start in district play after a 56-24 win over Dallas (Jesuit), Texas last weekend.

"It's all good," Samples said when contacted and asked about doing an interview for a story in Go Pokes Magazine. "I'm happy with how I am doing, and our team is doing well. We have a lot of playmakers and it makes it fun. Davante (Kincade) is playing really well at quarterback."

Samples had three receptions for a whopping 116 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Jesuit. Samples caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Kincade and later had a 90-yard catch and run for a touchdown.

Overall on the season, Samples has 18 receptions for 369 yards and eight touchdowns.

We will have Reginald Samples, Sample's father and Skyline head coach, on the radio on "Sportstalk with Robert Allen and Friends" on Thursday at 10:05 a.m., and then we will be at the Skyline game at Lake Highlands on Friday to finish up the story. The story is on how schools like Oklahoma State love to recruit coach's sons as they bring a lot of extra intelligence and football savvy to the program they play in.

Samples announced his commitment to Oklahoma State this summer while he was attending Nike's The Opening in Beaverton, Ore. He chose the Cowboys over Texas, Texas A&M, USC, LSU, and many other schools.
