In an interview this summer with Scout.com West Lawn (Pa) linebacker Junior Joseph thought he was closing in on ending his recruitment and committing.
Things don't always go according to plan, though. Joseph is now slowing the process down and playing out his senior season. During the summer, Syracuse was in the mix of things but they have since dropped out of Joseph's picture.
His focus is now turned towards continuing to build on an already impressive senior year thus far and keeping in contact with the schools most interested in him.
"I talked with my recruiting coach Bobby Engram and defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield," Joseph said. "They said they really like my size, how physical I am on film and to just be patient with them, so I'm going to wait until the end of the season to make any big decision."
A lot of aspects of the unofficial visit stood out.
"It was a great atmosphere. Definitely the craziest atmosphere I have ever been in. It was pretty cool how Pitt upset them," he said. "The coaches and the players seem pretty cool and I love the city life feel of everything there. The area is awesome."
Also a big mark on Joseph's radar is Toledo. He says he will be setting up an official visit in a couple weeks to the Rockets and one particular aspect of the program is most intriguing to him.
"Toledo is great because they've told me I could possibly start right away and it's always a plus to be able to play early."
"Watching Toledo, I see a lot of good players returning next year and they're the best team in the MAC so that's pretty cool. There are some big things coming up at Toledo and that's really caught my eye."
Below are highlights of Joseph in his first five games of his senior year.
