Charles hones in on three

Senior DeMatha (Md) Defensive Back Brian Charles names top three.

Senior defensive back Brian Charles (5'11", 185 lbs) already has an offer from Old Dominion University, and hopes to acquire one from Towson when he visits in a few weeks. He has also been in contact with the University of Maryland, the University of Massachusetts, Boston College and West Virginia University.

He is the most interested in Old Dominion, Towson and the University of Maryland, looking into each respectively, and likes certain aspects of each school.

"With ODU, I can go to graduate school and they have a great criminal justice program where I can do internships with their local police department," he said. "Their football team is great, and I have a good relationship with all their coaches. I'm actually committed there, but my recruiting is still open."

"With Towson, it's similar to ODU. It's going to be my first time actually touring the school in a few weeks, and they're giving me a shot to compete for a starting job.. to play as a freshman. They said I remind them of their graduating All-American safety then he was a freshman. The defensive coordinator and safety coaches really want me to be a Tiger."

"The University of Maryland asked me for my transcripts a few weeks ago and I talk to Coach Locksley every week, but I honestly don't know my status as far as an offer goes with them so it's just a wait and see type thing."

The senior is holding steady with a GPA of 2.84.
