Ole Miss offers Kenny Young

Kenny Young grabbed his first offer this week from the Ole Miss Rebels. Read further to find out what the blue-chip junior OLB from John Curtis Christian had to say about it.

Ole Miss is targeting several John Curtis Christian prospects.

"Duke Riley told me the Ole Miss coaches saw my film and wanted to offer," Kenny Young said. "I hit up Coach Grant Heard. He said they know what type of guy I am, and that they were offering.

"I'm excited. It's a blessing to get this first offer. I didn't expect it to happen so soon; I'm looking forward to visiting Ole Miss and seeing their campus."

Young recently attended Tulane's home game vs. Ole Miss.

"I paid close attention to Ole Miss' linebackers," he said. "They had one linebacker who was huge, and they have a good linebackers coach.

"I'm open to everybody with no favorites yet. I just want to keep working hard."

The country's 11th-rated junior OLB, Young is very much on LSU's radar.

"I talked to Coach Frank Wilson the same night Ole Miss offered," Young recalled. "Malachi Dupre (four-star 2014 WR from Curtis) told me the LSU coaches wanted to talk to me.

"Coach Wilson said he and Coach Les Miles know about me, and they invited me to their game this weekend against South Carolina. Malachi and I are planning to attend."

Young is third on the team in tackles at John Curtis behind senior LBs Eric Thomas and Riley.

Riley has 64 stops. Thomas has 51, and Young and senior DL Cyle Cortez each have 38.

Curtis is 6-0 and ranked near the "top of the pile" nationally.
