14 Talk College Football

Five games into the season recruits weighed in on what the game means and what has surprised them. Scout.com checks in with a mixture of 14 prospects from the 2013/2014 recruiting classes.

Darrius Spivey-Nunn:

"College football means a chance to play in the best environments around the best fan basses and against the best talent available. Also, it's a chance for you to see how you stack up against athlete's just as good as you. There are many things that have caught my eye during this season but the things that's surprised me the most is the upsets and how consistent the SEC is and the dominance."

Richard Yeargin III:

"College football has definitely been very interesting. Teams like North Carolina State and Notre Dame have turned some heads over here."

Lincoln Quick:

"I watch college football every Saturday and I love it. I think it would be awesome to play college football and I just notice how good the SEC is and how the majority of the teams play great defense."

Stanley Williams:

"Its been a really good college football season so far and a lot of teams are playing really good ball."

Trevahn Beery:

"College football is very important to me. Football is pretty much my life. It seems like in college the sport you play is all you do. I like that. I have learned after five games that this year's defense's does not seem as dominant as the offense's."

Kieran Winn:

"What college football means to me is growth on and off the field to help you learn and experience that part of life. It gets you ready to compete on the next level."

Skylar Lacy:

"College football to me is an opportunity of a lifetime. If it weren't for football I wouldn't be able to attend a four year university like Louisville. Some things that have stood out to me are the teams proving the doubters wrong like West Virginia and Notre Dame and of course the emergence of players to the national spotlight like Teddy Bridgewater and Leveon Bell."

Devin Hayes:

"College football has always been my favorite thing to watch on TV just because how awesome the atmosphere is on game day. I think that's what makes college football such a high goal of mine. The quality of teams outside of the powerhouse conferences with all the upsets this year has surprised me."

Delvin Purifoy:

"Football is the best thing in the world to me."

Chandler Bridges:

"College football for me is an opportunity to continue to play the game I love at the next level while also receiving an education that will set me up for the rest of my life. Getting to live a dream I have had for a long time. I continue to feel my excitement for Louisville and college football. I can't express how thankful I am to have this opportunity."

Phillip Francis:

"It means everything to me. It's another step closer to the NFL and meeting with other players from all over. It's very exciting to compete with other recruits all over and see what colleges actually show you attention and not just letters and questionnaires."

Corey Holmes:

"College Football means a lot to me. It's what I look forward to watching all throughout the week and what truly motivates me to be the best at what I do so I can eventually have that opportunity to be a part of it and finally classify myself as a college football player. I would say so far this season all the high scoring games and explosive offenses has definitely stood out to me."

Johnnie Dixon:

"College football is the next step to becoming a better player and better person. It's more than just football. Life really starts to jump out at you. Five games into the season I am seeing that a lot of teams are starting to double me but I have to just play past that and ball out."

Marquis Haynes:

"College football means hard work and dedication for the love of the game representing your college towards the next level."

"It gives me a chance to get a college education then it also allows me to prolong my career in the sport I love. Some things that have caught my attention would be that you have to have health throughout the season."
