Moore ‘shocked' by latest offer

After picking up a big-time offer from Ohio State, 2013 linebacker Skai Moore expects his recruitment to take a bit longer than he originally expected. The University School (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) standout had pretty much been down to two schools, but the Buckeyes have unexpectedly come on the scene and have gone straight to the top of his list.

Skai Moore had pretty much made up his mind that he would either give his verbal pledge to Rutgers or Vanderbilt. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound athlete says an offer from Ohio State is certainly a game-changer in his recruitment.

"It definitely changes some things up. I feel like it's going to take me a little bit longer to make my decision now because I'm definitely considering Ohio State. I definitely want to try to take a visit up there and base my decision off that hopefully," he said.

"I know it has a lot of tradition, Coach Meyer has the tradition of winning a lot of games. I know that suspension they had ends this year, so by the time I would get up there everything should be all cleared up."

Having the attention of a powerhouse program like Ohio State encourages Moore the most.

"When I first found out, I was extremely excited and shocked really. It's definitely a big-time offer and I'm just happy that a big-time school has finally noticed me," he said.

"I actually talked to Coach Meyer. That was another thing I was shocked about."

While the Buckeyes have come on the scene full force, Moore says his decision is still far from a no-brainer. If anything, he has even more to think about.

"The two schools I'm really considering outside of Ohio State are Rutgers and Vanderbilt," he said.

"Rutgers is 5-0 and has a top 20 ranking, that makes them a lot more attractive as of now."

Moore is still working on a visit to Vanderbilt this weekend when the Commodores welcome the Gators and he hopes to visit Rutgers in December with his teammate and Rutgers commit, Nick Internicola.
