Khalid Thomas is committed to the University of Kentucky.

"I feel...good about it," the 2013 running back said. "I'm committed to Kentucky. It's a great college atmosphere. I like the coaching staff very much. I like the foundation; it's very family-oriented. I feel it's the right place for me."

With rumors of the Wildcat coaching staff on the metaphorical 'hot seat,' Thomas plans to suit up for the Big Blue Nation regardless of staff changes.

"I would feel bad, but it wouldn't change my commitment," Thomas said of a potentially new coaching regime.

This fall, Thomas plans to work on the areas he feels will make him a more solid college football player. "I'm working on improving," Thomas said. "I am working on exploding on every cut and being more patient. I'm working to let the [offensive] line work for me."

Although Thomas has called his recruitment an open-and-shut case, others are still in the hunt for the Godby star.

"[I still hear from] Missouri," Thomas explained. "I still get letters from Miami and Georgia Tech. But I'm not thinking about it."

An official visit to Lexington has not yet been scheduled, but will come in the near future. "I haven't taken it," Thomas said of the one official he'll take this fall. "I was thinking about taking it when they played South Carolina, but I'm looking to take it in [the coming weeks]."
