Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) four-star cornerback Chris Hawkins took his second official visit over the weekend, this time visiting Notre Dame.

The USC commit had previously visited Washington before tripping to South Bend to see the Irish host Stanford.

While Hawkins declined to speak about the visit, his father talked briefly about the trip.

"All we can say is Notre Dame has a classy program," said his father, Armond. "He was very impressed with the coaching staff and the fans."

Armond Hawkins said the two may return to South Bend soon.

"We will probably take an unofficial back there in the next couple of weeks," said Armond. "Now I will go with him on an unofficial to Notre Dame."

Hawkins will take one more scheduled official visit this month, to Arizona State on October 27th when the Sun Devils host UCLA.

He will be joined on that visit by his brother, Armond Jr., who's also visiting Arizona State officially.

Armond Hawkins said, though, that Chris remains solidly committed to USC.

Brandon is in his eighth year with Scout.com, currently as a National Recruiting Analyst and West Regional Manager. Prior to joining the Scout.com Recruiting Team, he was a team recruiting writer.  He's been covering recruiting for the Scout.com network since 2003.
