Franklin wants to be a quarterback

John Franklin from South Plantation High School wants to be a quarterback in college. Some schools like this good athlete on defense as a cornerback.

John Franklin is an exciting prospect from Plantation (Fla.) South Plantation High School. He plays quarterback and is a tremendous athlete with an above average arm. Some schools like him as a wide receiver or cornerback while others feel he can be a signal caller.

"I want to play quarterback," Franklin said. "I know teams like Florida International, Western Kentucky, Bowling Green, Temple, Navy, Air Force and Tennessee State have all offered me as a quarterback. Then you have teams like FSU, Illinois and Kentucky that like me as a cornerback. But I want to be a quarterback and hopefully I have enough of film to show people. A lot of schools wanted to see my first half of the season and we are getting out that highlight tape."

Franklin, 6-foot-1 and 190-pounds, is very athletic in the pocket. He's tough to corral with his quickness and speed and can extend plays with his legs. The question is where will Franklin play?

"I know I will make an official visit to Bowling Green in December," Franklin said. "As for the rest I will wait and see what happens with the schools and then plan my other visits."
