Calhoun has a couple of offers, both from the Pac-12.
"I got the Washington offer a few weeks ago and I was pretty excited and very relieved about it," said Calhoun, who had Utah offer last week. "To know I finally got an offer from my junior season was big. I've been offered as an outside linebacker."
Calhoun said some schools like him as a linebacker and others like him as a strong safety, which is where he'd prefer to play.
"I prefer to play strong safety but I want to see if my body grows bigger, cause if it does, I want to be more in the box and stuffing the run," said Calhoun. "I just think right now, safety is better for me in college."
Aside from the Huskies and Utes, Calhoun is also hearing from a number of other schools.
"I've heard from Florida State, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and UCLA," said Calhoun. "UCLA has been hitting me up more on email and I've been talking with the linebackers coach. My sister goes to USC and plays basketball so I'm definitely interested in them."
Calhoun played for the USA Football U-17 team this summer, working at safety for the first time, a position he grew fond of.
"The competition was great and it was a really good experience playing for the U.S. It was my first time playing safety and I liked it a lot," said Calhoun. "I'm a hitter. When someone came in at me, I'm coming at him and hitting him."
Calhoun said he's open to getting out of the Bay Area.
"I'm not really looking at Cal right now, because I'm looking to get away from Northern California," said Calhoun.
Academically, Calhoun has a 3.0 and has taken the PSAT.
On the season, Calhoun has 90 tackles and a return for a touchdown for 7-0 El Cerrito.
