Hytchye postpones NU visit

Three-star cornerback Jaleel Hytchye had preliminary plans to visit Evanston, but is unable to make the trip. However, Hytchye is still planning a visit to Northwestern, plus several other schools. He discusses that and more in this PurpleWildcats recruiting update.

Jaleel Hytchye had his sights set on a trip to Evanston this Saturday to see Northwestern battle Nebraska. However, the three-star cornerback is unable to leave his hometown of Cincinnati this weekend.

For now, Hytchye has his visits postponed, but he's still making each tour a priority. Trips to Northwestern plus Arizona State, Cincinnati, Kentucky, and Pittsburgh, with a Panthers game likely in store on Oct. 27.

"I'm just kind of keeping it open," said Hytchye. "I want to take my visits and the (high school) season is winding down, so I'll have more opportunities."

Hytchye most recently visited Northwestern in July, joining his good friend Keith Watkins, a current 'Cat commit. Hytchye is eager to see Evanston again, but hopes to do so on a college football Saturday.

"I really want to get back to all my schools, but Northwestern is definitely in there," said Hytchye, asked about NU. "I liked it the first time I went down, but I wasn't so sure I could honestly say I could commit to there (at the time)."

Hytchye is unsure what will be the difference-maker in his decision, but hopes that answer is revealed during his visits.

"I'm hoping I can just go [to campus], feel at home, and feel I can play there for four or five years," he said. "I need to focus on getting a job and degree. I need to become a better man."
