Commitment Progress Report

The stretch run is underway and the playoffs are just around the corner for most high schools. And Ole Miss commitments are in the middle of the action.

Devante Kincade

**QB Devante Kincade and Skyline (TX) defeated Sunset 42-6 last night to run their record to 6-1. The 4-Star Ole Miss quarterback commit played in front of Rebel assistant Dan Werner and was 4-4 for 112 passing yards and four touchdowns. He also had a rushing TD in the contest.

In seven games of action the Army All-American has over 1,700 yards/21 TDs and rushed for over 600 yards/7 TDs.

The nation's #12 ranked quarterback was a terror on the field last season as he passed for 3,270 yards and 37 touchdowns while also chipping in another 857 rushing yards and 17 TDs on his way to All-State honors.

Skyline faces Richardson next Friday

****Gadsden City (AL) and Finesse Middleton lost their third straight game last Friday to Clay-Chalkville 21-14. The Ole Miss hybrid commit had a season high 11 tackles, 4 for losses, 3 sacks and a safety in the game. Through five games he has has 46 tackles, 20 for losses and 8.5 sacks.

Middleton had 45 tackles and 10 sacks as a junior manning the defensive tackle position. His season was cut short by a foot injury in the middle of the season but he did return for the playoffs. Middleton is expected to enroll at Ole Miss in December.

Finesse was selected to the MS/AL All-Star game in December.

**RB Peyton Barber and Milton (GA) continued its winning ways with a 59-27 win over Etowah. Peyton had 197 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the game.'s No. 60 rated tailback has rushed for 1,128 yards and 14 TDs in the first six games of the season.

The bruising 225-pound back had over 1,160 rushing yards his sophomore campaign before breaking his foot in game three of his junior season. He missed the remainder of the '11 campaign.

**Canton (MS) and Daronte Bouldin were thumped 42-0 by Starkville last Friday night. The 6' 5", 315-pound Dandy Dozen offensive tackle had eight pancakes and four crackbacks in the game which runs his season total to 68 pancakes and 43 crackback blocks through eight games. Canton is 3-5 and faces Jackson Callaway tonight. Callaway sports the top junior offensive line prospect in the state tonight in Roderick Taylor


Mark Dodson

**RB Mark Dodson and Whitehaven (Tenn) defeated Memphis Melrose 58-0 last night. Mark had 11 carries for 156 yards and four TDs.

Whitehaven is now 8-0 on the season.'s No. 43 rated tailback has 138 carries for 1,350 yards and 17 TDs. Last season he rushed for over 2,100 yards and 28 TDs. He was named first team All-State for his on-the-field accomplishments.

**Champagnat Catholic (Hialeah, FL) and S Charles Williams were defeated by American Heritage 44-14, leading to a disappointing 2-4 record. Williams is ranked the No. 52 rated safety by but also doubles as his team's starting quarterback. He was 2-5 for 44 yards passing and also chipped in a sack and interception on defense.

Williams has 39 rushes for 251 rushing yards and four TDs, as well 147 passing yards and one TD. He's also contributed four catches for 62 yards and a touchdown on the season.

**TE Evan Engram and Hillgrove (GA) were defeated by North Cobb 41-14 last Friday, moving their overall record to 3-3. The Ole Miss tight end commit had five catches for 126 yards and a touchdown in the contest. Through six games of action,'s No. 22 nationally rated tight end has 21 catches for 533 yards and four TDs.

Engram collected 20 receptions for 500 yards and six TDs as a junior.

Derrick Jones

**Derrick Jones was named Mississippi's player of the week after he helped Eupora (7-1) defeat rival Ackerman 22-18 last Friday. The 6' 3", 185-pound receiver had four catches for 84 yards and a 45-yard touchdown. He also brought back a key interception 85 yards right before half to start the rally. Through nine games of action Jones has 34 catches for 672 yards and nine total TDs. He has also chipped in a 95-yard kickoff and a 85-yard punt return for touchdowns and has 26 tackles and three interceptions on defense

Jones was selected to the MS/AL All-Star game in December.

**Grenada (MS) lost to Southaven 28-22 last Friday to run its record to 4-4. Trey Bledsoe had three catches for 57 yards and also had an interception on the evening. He has only participated in four games of action this season due to a pre-season shoulder injury but has racked up 19 catches for 276 yards and four touchdowns on the season. He also has two interceptions on defense and a defensive touchdown.

Last season the 6' 2", 190-pound receiver caught 27 passes for 440 yards and seven TDs. While manning the safety position he posted 40 tackles and five interceptions.

**Ole Miss commits CB Zach Witchett and Quadarius Mireles lost a heartbreaker to Holmes in the last minute Thursday night. Mireles had seven receptions for 76 yards. This brings his season total to 38 receptions for 406 yards and four TDs through seven games of action. He also has 18 rushes for 176 yards and three touchdowns

Georgia native Witchett did not play due to a hamstring injury. He has been out of action the past four games. He has 12 solo tackles and four batted-down balls through four games of action this season.

**Ole Miss commit DT Herbert Moore had four tackles in a 42-6 loss to Memphis White Station last Friday. The 6' 2", 320-pound defensive tackle has 40 tackles, 11 tackles for losses,two sacks, one batted-down ball, three fumble recoveries, and one defensive touchdown on the season through seven games.'s No. 66 rated defensive tackle had 46 tackles and eight sacks as a junior.

East faces Craigmont next Friday.

**Carver (LA) and RB Eugene Brazley had 13 carries for 154 yards and three TDs. Carver defeated Clark 58-0 last Friday to run their record to 4-2.'s No. 72 rated tailback has 65 carries for 666 yards and eight touchdowns. He also has 12 receptions for 129 yards and three touchdowns.

Last season Brazley was one of the top play makers in the Big Easy as he had over 1,800 yards of offense and 24 TDs.

Ryan Buchanan

**Jackson Prep defeated East Rankin Aca 41-0 last Friday. The four-star QB was 14-19 for the night with 208 yards passing and two touchdowns in the contest. He also had a rushing touchdown. Through eight games of action the Dandy Dozen selection is 55-105 for 1,108 yards and 15 TDs. He has also rushed for over 200 yards.

Jackson Prep (8-0) faces Hillcrest Friday night.

**WR Dannon Cavil and Madison (TX) won a thrilling 24-21 game last Friday to run their record to 5-2. The Ole Miss commit had five receptions for 86 yards. In seven games of action he now has 19 receptions for 438 yards and four TDs.'s No. 123 ranked receiver had 27 catches for 565 yards and eight TDs his sophomore campaign for Lake Travis (TX). He transferred to Madison after his sophomore campaign but tore his hamstring and missed the entire regular season as a junior. He did return for the playoffs and recorded 68 yards receiving and returned two kickoffs for 110 yards.

**Byhalia (MS) and OT Davion Johnson defeated Winona 23-20 last Friday.'s No. 34 rated offensive tackle had 10 pancakes in the game. The Dandy Dozen offensive tackle has totaled 65 pancake blocks through nine games.

Last season the 6' 5", 325-pound left tackle was named first team All-State.

Byhalia (6-3) faces Palmer (5-1) Friday.

**Colquitt County (GA) and WR/CB Bobby Hill had a bye last week. He has 29 catches for 466 yards and two TDs through six games of action.

Last season the 6' 0", 165-pound athlete 13 catches for 368 yards and six TDs. On the defensive side of the ball, where he is projected to play at Ole Miss, he intercepted five passes.

Colquitt County (4-2) faces Brunswich tonight.

**LB Rashawn Smith and Florence (AL) defeated Hazel Green 21-14 last Friday. The Ole Miss commit had 12 tackles on the night. He has totaled 68 tackles and over 200 rushing yards on the season.

Smith was selected to the MS/AL All-Star game in December.

Florence (5-2) faces Austin tonight.

**Four-star TE Christian Morgan and Prestonwood Christian defeated John Paul 11 42-7 last Friday in front of coach Grant Heard. He had four catches for 76 yards in the contest. They now stand at 7-0 on the season.

The country's No. 12 rated tight end now has 20 catches for 216 yards and two TDs on the year.

Nick Brassell

**Nickolas Brassell and Darious Cummings helped East to a 56-49 victory over N' West CC Thursday night between two nationally top-5 ranked teams. Brassell had five receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown in the contest which brings his season total to 31 receptions for 428 yards and five TDs.

Cummings chipped in with five tackles to bring his season total to 21 tackles, six for loss, and two sacks.

East MS CC (8-0) will most likely jump to number one in the polls this week.
